As role models in the community, Macon Bacon should set a good example for fans and
stop promoting bacon.

Per FOX News, Bacon team president Brandon Raphael said in a statement that they would not change the name. Raphael ended the statement with, "The Macon Bacon will be sizzling forever and will not consider a name change. Ever."
As well, the official Macon Bacon Twitter account made it clear that they're retaining the team name:
The Macon Bacon were founded in 2018, and they play their home games at Luther Williams Field. They reached the 2019 Pettit Cup Championship series in 2019, falling to the defending champion Morehead City Marlins.
The Coastal Plain League is a "wood-bat" baseball league was founded in 1997, and it features 14 different teams who play in two divisions of seven. The Bacon are the third-youngest team in the league, behind the Tri-City Chili Peppers (there's another food name!) and the Boone Bigfoots.
